The idea for this piece came to me when I was thinking of my horse Ami.
When I could no longer ride him due to the progression of his ringbone, he still had days when he was higher than a kite and needed to get the bucks out. I would turn him out into a large paddock and one day when I was on the outside of the gate, I raised my hand to encourage him to move out. He reared up, trotted to the other side of the paddock and came back. I raised my hand again, and sure enough, he did it again. It was a game he had invented and I think he loved making me laugh as much as I loved watching him.

Thank you Tami Hoag, for the beautiful name "Exuberance".
