A life-size portrait sculpture would begin just as with a smaller (maquette size) portrait sculpture. Once the likeness of the horse is captured in a maquette, it is enlarged to a life-size sculpture in foam. Clay is applied to the foam and the life-size sculpture is sculpted further. This is then followed by mold making/casting in bronze.
